A number of years ago while traveling through the famed Badlands of South Dakota, I stopped at an overview to admire the scenery and noticed this meadowlark perched on a post. He seemed to enjoy the scenery as well, letting out a cheerful song as he perched admiring the view.
Ever since I was young, I've held a special place in my heart for birds and animals, and believe that we have a connection with them. In our modern world, however, this connection often seems quite distant. It's my hope that these paintings remind us of that connection.
